Pans and trays coated in fast release silicone or PTFE (Teflon) MUST be lightly oiled before each and every use.
DO NOT “burn in” pans or trays as this process will damage the coating, reducing and in some cases destroying the release properties.
REMOVE baked product from pans as soon as possible, preferably while pan is still warm. This eliminate moisture from condensing under the product that can cause premature failure of the release coating.
To get maximum performance from your bakeware wipe over with a damp cloth after use and store in a dry area. DO NOT immerse in water, scour or use sharp implements as this will permanently damage any coating applied.
TAKE CARE when handling pie tins and trays as the tins have a sharp cutting edge.
USE CARE when depanning baked products - harsh treatment may result in pans becoming dented and mis-shapen affecting their nestability.
Stainless steel products MAY be washed with warm soapy water, rinsed and then dried before storage.
Perforated trays require special attention to ensure the holes do not become clogged. Wipe over after use with a damp cloth. A SOFT brush may be used where necessary. DO NOT scrub.
EXCESS use of oil will result in heavy carbon build up that will lead to product discoloration and/or spotting. Grants are happy to provide a re-blocking and re-coating service that will extend the life and performance of your bakeware.
